Mentor 3 and the Kings concern
Found myself watching mentor 3 last night... the theme was something-something sifu whatever crap these tv shows can churn up with. i always thought that there were too many entertainment shows on tv. so many reality shows. too many related to singing, dancing, acting... despite all that theres not even one high quality movie or soap worth commenting on. what a waste. one would think with that much stress put on our local artists (whom are mostly perasan and have this disillusions of being quality artists) we should be able to come up with something like... say... La Usu Padora?
Even the hosts had enough fucking arrogance to say "mengundi adalah tanggungjawap anda untuk memastikan pujaan anda menang!!!". WTH... she should have said menutup aurat adalah kewajipan anda or sembahyang adalah wajib, minum arak adalah haram, berzina adalah haram etc... eh... that should be the ketua agama Islam and the relevant agencies doing right? i wonder what they are doing... really.
The problem with these 'arts' people is, they tend to believe they are up to par with international standards. just like our soccer team. always harping that we are ready for the olympics but can't even beat a country whose name i never heard of and i didn't know existed. its almost the same setting... both claim to have rich traditions and a string historical background dating back to God knows when... both have massive support from a corrupt government and tons of money spent on both industries. Also, both have never gone far. The barks are impressive but the bite... aaahh, pathetic. Both are seen as political tools. one targeting the mass fan base of soccer, one to be seen as 'trendy' and to be surrounded by good looking fresh 'meat' or aspirants who wanna make it big in the entertainment industry.
to me, the biggest breakthru in Malaysia's entertainment is; NOT the actors (i think if a stray diseased dog was trained, it can act better), NOT the quality of story/script/props/choreo (again, if an endangered orangutan was trained for 1 week, better results could be seen) but in our animation. Animation needs creativity & hardwork... Upin & Ipin is the hallmark of Malaysia's entertainment industry's achievement for this new century. Actors/tresses please buck up, or just stop acting and get married to a datuk or tan sri or just leave the industry and become whores/gigolos, you'd be doing us a favor.
The recent string of drama or soaps... was a bit too much. too much sexiness from Malays whores, too much disrespecting Islam. Eh, i forgot, it is permissible to INSULT Islam right? That is what most people are doing on TV nowadays. All the related agencies and so called enforcement bodies are too busy watching soaps than to take action. ah, the ketua agama? sama la tu.
One reason why i am a bit disappointed... Mentor 3 aired last night... a statement by Awie... yes... the rocker... sounded more or les like this..."Nak nyanyi lagu rock kena ikhlas and kena ada feel. Tu sebab penyanyi rock yg akan masuk syurga" au kama qall. Something like that. Yes, from As-Sayyed Hafiz Al-Perkida Sheikh Rockers Awie. On live TV, cool ain't it? It took much less than that to put someone in ISA. Talking about Awie, he is a member of the famed Perkida, an ayahanda by rank. I think Perkida should remove the Islam as well since most of its members now are either mat rempits, lousy rockers, two-tongued politicians and gangsters. Heard stories on how Awie would be the first to flee from any conflict or incident. Ayahanda penakut. haha!
800 people were conferred titles by the Perak King. The speech touched on how some political parties are taking advantage and using the so called royal institution which is clearly non-partisan when in comes to politics... NOT!!! WTF, if they were so non-partisan, then why mention it at all and obviously condemning the opposition??? And all this while the kings were the ones USED by umno assholes. Huh... non-partisan my ass.
Since the police, the judiciary and government agencies are all biased... it is hard to be frank and honest. corruption, power abuse and obvious misuse of funds are rampant. Now i understand what Najib meant by 1 malaysia, people first, performance now... it means;
One Malaysia (My Malaysia)
People First (My People)
Performance Now (Please forget the 1st 50 years)
I dont believe UMNO can reform, unless all the bad people are removed, and if done so, not many will be left in umno. I dont believe in the promises made to be unbiased. I do not believe the commission to monitor commissions of commissions made for certain problems is effective. I dont believe umno can remain relevant. I believe it is time to remove the racist system and move on to a greater purpose.
Also re recently... on forum perdana... held somewhere i Perak i think... was about kampung people. how this and that and this is what should be done, on income generating activities and stuff. it was too obvious none of the panel speakers were really aware of the real issues. most of them just babbled about motivation and how God said do this and do that. To me, it was just meaningless crap. They should've brought in social researchers and people from YBK involved in training programs, not people who just talk but not walk the talk.
