Yoga, Pengkid and The Iron Lady melting away.

The Majlis Fatwa sure is under fire. The fatwa's on yoga & pengkid has roused crazy responses from various parties... NGO's, SNGO's (S for stupid) women organizations... but not a peek from Malay politicians especially from UMNO. The coming elections has made them careful, worried of insulting the majority Malay population.

Anyways, my personal view of the mentioned fatwa regarding Yoga & Pengkid... well, kinda agree. What i don't agree with is the way they made the announcement, and HOW they came to that judgement. Since it is clear that according to Islam (represented by relevant authorities) that yoga and pengkid are both not allowed, can't challange it much. Who are we to question scholars of Islam? Macam le pandai sangat bab agama nak komen2.

But what can be discussed is on how, who, why, they came up with the fatwa. Was there technical advice from relevant bodies? Was there a clear explanation given to the old geezers/muftis? Do we really expect that the information that they got, represented the REAL situation? Was there any BIAS? I am not aware of these things, but the possibility is there. Secondly... these old buggers seriously have no sense of public relation communication. Agak bodoh jugak cara diorang sampaikan results. To the extent of making them look stupid and arrogant.

Yoga has come a long way. It has been modernised and the elements of hindu rituals and worship has long gone. It is now more or less something like taibo or stuff similar. Logically i would like to ask... if push ups or skipping or even football or basketball somehow imitated some foreign religions worship rituals, would these too be considered haram? Crazy man...

Pengkid... heh. This ones a more interesting case. Sister Of Islam Murtad barked so much. Stating that Islam is not about moral policing. I wonder what kinda Islam they are talking about. Must be some sort of new sect believing that haj should be made in KLCC. Pengkid is clearly haram. Simple as that. BUT, as i mentioned earlier, they Islamic scholars are lousy PR men. They could have explained they issue more elaborately and in a more friendly matter. The mainstream media ain't helping, twisting facts and portraying these muftis as chauvinists and orthodox. Pants are permissible for women, as long as the aurah is protected. I read in NST, a reporter or was it a hooker stated that her attire was in accordance with her job. pants and stuff. But hey, she totally forgot one important thing... the hijab, dah la tak pakai tudung, ada hati nak komen pasal AGAMA. Bapak bodoh pompuan neh... ke memang ada hati jadi kapir? I wonder...

This is getting way too cool. Sharizat finally decided to challenge Rafjis, and looks like Raf is melting. Lets see what happens.
