Party Hopping....

Someone mentioned about drafting an anti-hopping law, referring to party hopping between political parties. they harped on such words as betrayal, resigning posts and returning power to constituents, a crime and punishable by imprisonment and etc.

i beg to differ. party hopping is only natural at this stage of political maturity among Malaysian politicians. at one time ago, when master says, dog do. nowadays is master ask nicely with good incentives without disrupting constituents trust, then dog do. my point is that politician or aduns or mps were not as obedient as they were. this is definitely a good sign since not all party leadership decisions are good, most of them are just self serving and for the sake of other individuals and never the general population. join us or suffer. i believe this is one of the main causes why reps jump ship. the existence of passionate and caring reps have started to overshadow the evil and oppressing party leadership. if the party involved no longer fights for the peoples ideals... then why not jump ship? its better betraying the party than betray the people. the in thing is to vote for the individual, not the party.

its rare to see a BN MP vote for an opposition motions. but not uncommon for an opposition voting for a BN motion. If a BN MP votes for a motion by the opposition, it would be considered as against party rules even when the motion is for the benefit of the people. so tell me, where is the common sense in this? You can't go against the party EVEN if its for the benefit of the people??? If there was a motion by the BN president to make all Malaysian eat shit for a week, the BN reps will vote for it!? If not, they'd be going against party principles???

why bother hanging posters of leaders everyone hates and despises during elections and by-elections? some party's just never learn. the younger generation has more access to alternative media and information. it is no longer adequate using biased media and oppressing strategies. they seriously have to revamp the party and if need change the leadership giving way to fresh clean politicians who are capable of bringing change.

so to all aduns or MP's, please do jump ship if your current party no longer fights for the people. to those suggesting an enactment of an anti-hopping law, get a grip and think back carefully. do you seriously think the people will show support to a party that forgets the people? well, just look at the last elections. we all now know what to expect for the next election. there are more serious crimes than party hopping... corruption, power abuse, sex scandals and more sinister deeds done by politicians... why blabber on party hopping.

FAM and the daring reporter

Read recently a column by an Eric something regarding Malaysian football. it ended with "the message is clear, Tuanku". Daring i would say!

i have always been a firm believer that watching local football is an insult to the game. i have never been a big fan of a game that i do not play... but one day hanging out with the guys it so just happened there was an Arsenal vs Man U game live. i was captivated from that moment on (especially since Arsenal whipped MU's arse!!!)... and from there on was born a Gunners loyalist.

only once in my life have i been to a live game here in Malaysia... and that was during MyTeam's stint against Malaysia (1st one). the stadium was packed. and the atmosphere... amazing. watching a team capable of matching the skills of a properly trained team (despite losing) was kinda fun. i mean... here were guys picked by a reality show assembled and minimally trained and selected to go against the so said cream of the cream of Malaysian football.... and there wasn't mush difference in quality!!! what the hell?!?!?!? i'd dare say anyone even a mamak kedai cendol can become a Malaysia football player. this fact is supported by the sacked coaches statement that on 3 national players passed the fitness test before being whipped by saudi.

so where did we go wrong? Korea, Japan, China and other asian countries were far behind starting off... but now they enter the World Cup and international tourneys regularly... Malaysia? we're just proud having an M-League, Super Cup. More like Moderate School Level League & Super Middle Aged Losers league.

Santhianathan and Chin was sacked. Its a tradition, when a team fails, its always the coaches and managers. i'd prefer the president, VP, exco and central committee members since we all know these buggers are more likely the cause. more than 20 years heading a national level sports organization is like being PM for 20 years ++. you become addicted to power and authority... and all other views are either wrong or disrespectful 'since i have been here long before you were'. it also opens up doors for corruption, abuse of power and funds and the results... Malaysian football maintains it level in the prehistoric age an age where most of the executive members were born.

all except for KJ. i like KJ when it comes to football. out of his cunningness, Adidas was kicked out and Nike was in. he and shebby somehow pulled off MyTeam... and that itself showed how Malaysians are fed up with the corrupted, outdated, lousy ways of the conventional football system. football is as dirty as politics, and this fact is not so surprising once we consider why people want to head football joints.

One of course is for political mileage. i'd say at least 10% of the general population watches football, and the football craze is not limited to any age group or gender. its quite similar to politics. the glamour, the money, the fame and authority. Secondly since most FA's are under the patronship of royalty, it also makes a good platform to lick ass. land... land... and more land... datukships... etc. you get the idea. lastly followers. they have a kind of following... especially states ranked top.

Datuk Redzuan said 'the majority wanted new blood'. So please kindly excuse yourself and all the other old buggers in FAM. do us a favor and dont be like samy vellu. unlike politics the majority/public dont get to vote, if they did i'm sure NON of the current people will be in office. most likely ex-national players, sincere coaches and support staff would be elected. not fat dinosaurs. if you want a team to succeed, the management and authority must have the same drive as the players themselves. for the betterment of the sport.

i'd prefer KJ become the president. he may make some corrupt decisions in awarding contracts and supplies but i'm sure he would have enough common sense to ensure the sport will flourish... because he is young... and if he brings positive change he'd be worshiped (which is of course something he loves) forever and thus ensuring his popularity among the younger voters (something he lacks) and cease to depend on postal votes. he is generally unpopular in the political scene, but as anak PM, he has the leverage, skills and qualities to turn the sports around.
